Meet Billy Billy is an approximately 4-year-old Boxer with a sweet personality, a playful spirit, and a serious appreciation for the finer things in life—especially comfy dog beds, cozy couches, good bones, and relaxing in front of the TV. Billy is crate trained and doing very well with house training. He marked a little when he first arrived, but that has improved, and he seems to understand his house manners very well. He also walks pretty nicely on a leash, making him a great companion for strolls and adventures. Billy enjoys playing with other dogs, especially dogs who are close to his size and can match his playful energy. He does have a little resource guarding around food, which may be related to arriving underweight. We’re working on helping him gain weight and feel secure, and with continued patience and consistency, we expect this to keep improving. Billy does not show prey drive toward cats or kittens, but he definitely enjoys playing with them. He would do best with feline friends who are comfortable with a playful Boxer personality and can set their own boundaries. When he isn’t playing, Billy is happiest curled up on the couch watching TV, lounging in a plush dog bed, or enjoying a good bone to chew on. He’s a bit of a bougie Boxer who knows what he likes—and honestly, we can’t blame him. Billy is looking for a loving home where he can continue to feel safe, gain some healthy weight, enjoy plenty of cozy comforts, and be part of the family.
