Description

A LITTLE SHY & SUPER SWEET: Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 6 lbs. Hello—I'm Milly! I came to Mostly Mutts when I needed a new home & I am sure glad to be here! I'm in a wonderful foster home having fun & soaking up lots of love while I wait to meet my new family! Perhaps you? You may notice that my eyes are a bit cloudy & I do have some vison loss, but I'm used to it & get around well as I was born this way (just no stairs please—or just carry me for those). • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I recently met dogs & initially growled at them, but—I soon thought, 'Hey, maybe these guys could be my friends!' So if you have a lower energy dog but with a bit of playfulness, let's meet & see if we can be pals. / Cats unknown. / I haven't met kids yet & due to my sight, I think older calmer kids such as 10+ would be best in my new home, as sudden movements & loud noises make me nervous. Let's meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I'm a very sweet soul who is discovering more & more confidence every day! I may be a little shy at first, but it doesn't take me long to get to know, trust, & love you, especially if you're a nice, calm-natured person or family. I'm gentle when taking treats from your hand, & once I feel comfortable, I'm a super cuddly, loving, & happy-natured girl. I really like knowing where my people are & enjoy watching or listening to them throughout the day, so I'm happiest when I can be near you. In my foster home, I spend much of my time relaxing on my big, comfy bed, where I have two light blankets that I adorably move around with my nose & mouth until I get them just right for snuggling! My foster family sometimes moves my bed so I can keep an eye—or ear—on them when they're busy in another room, & I seem very happy just knowing my people are nearby. They also leave some lights on for me. I'm still getting comfortable exploring my surroundings & tend to stick to familiar areas for now, but as I continue to feel safe & confident that will likely change, A temporary foster I visited when my regular foster was away started to say "UP" when I needed to be picked up, so I think I'll get used to that pretty quickly as I do need to be picked up for stairs, etc. I'm a gentle girl with a whole lot of love to give, & I can't wait to show my new family all the wonderful things I can do! / Energy level: 3-5.      • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I don't know any specific commands, but learning some great doggie commands could be fun! Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so we could do some training together. / I whine some when initially going in a crate, but I settle down to sleep soon after. In my foster home, I sleep through the night in a comfy dog bed positioned near my foster's bed with a couple of burrowing blankets. / I have had pretty good potty habits in my foster home—especially as my foster has learned my cues (increasingly moving around). There have only been a couple of accidents early on. I seem to prefer the fake porch grass to real grass, but I WILL go there—just takes me a little longer to find 'the spot'.  • LIKES/DISLIKES: I'm a wonderful car rider & happily sit in my bed without making a fuss. I'm also a great couch buddy—I love being close to my people & will happily snuggle against your back or curl up in the crook of your knees. I love being cuddled, & loved on, although sometimes I'm happiest simply being right beside you rather than on top of you. My little front feet are pretty special; I love reaching out to gently touch you, & it's just about the cutest thing! I've also liked everyone who pets me. / Sudden hand movements toward me can startle me, & I'm wary of stairs & hesitant around doorways. Like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love & attention. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped & spayed. I am looking for a calm, loving home where I will be a cherished family member! My adoption fee is $299.00, & I'm located in Kennesaw, Ga.
