Description

Meet Shiloh This resourceful little girl was seen running as a stray when some Good Samaritans started feeding her. They soon realized Shiloh had a litter of puppies and reached out to Worthy Dog for help. We connected with Julie, one of our rescue partners, about the puppies, and Shiloh came to us. Shiloh and her puppies were covered in fleas but otherwise in good health. She is still a young dog herself and is ready for a fresh start with the loving family she deserves. Shiloh can be a little shy and nervous when she first meets someone, but it doesn't take long for her to warm up. Once she trusts you, she is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loves to be held and cuddled. She has done wonderfully with her foster’s dog and enjoys having a pup companion. The two play, snuggle, and even share the dog bed. She would also be happy as an only dog if her people have the time and flexibility for a young pup.  Overall, Shiloh is a medium-level energy pup. She is an active girl who also settles well in the house. She is an excellent leash walker and has been enjoying multiple walks a day with her foster mom. Her quick potty walks are typically just 5 to 10 minutes, with longer walks twice a day. She has also been to the local greenway for 45-minute walks a few times and did great around dogs, people, children, and horses. She would love an owner who enjoys getting out for walks with her. A condo or townhome may actually be a great fit for Shiloh. She is small, doesn't need a large yard, and is happy going out on leash to potty and exercise. If she does have a yard, it will need to be very securely fenced. Shiloh is surprisingly good at squeezing through small spaces and has slipped through her foster's fence a few times. She has always come back, but her adopters will need to be diligent about preventing an escape. She has also tried to slip out the front door, although she is learning to wait. Shiloh is house trained and has good house manners. She took to her crate immediately and regularly goes in on her own, although she currently has free run of the house and her foster mom has not felt the need to crate her. Like most young dogs, she has discovered that trash cans and unattended food are worth investigating, so she'll need some supervision and continued training. Shiloh is a sweet, playful young dog who loves her people and is quickly learning how good life can be. She would do well with another dog or as an only dog and would love a family ready to give her plenty of walks, attention, and affection. Apply today!
