Description
Tanner is the long, lanky, handsome guy of the group. He is sleek, gorgeous, adventurous, and has just enough attitude to know exactly what he wants and what he doesn’t. While Tanner is confident exploring his world, he is still nervous around humans. He may hiss when he feels unsure, but he generally doesn’t bite or swat. Right now, he isn’t a lap kitty and doesn’t enjoy being held. He needs a calm, patient person who will continue working with him every day and help him learn that being close to humans can be a good thing. Fortunately, Tanner has one very obvious weakness: food. This boy is the biggest foodie of the group and the first one down from the cat tower when breakfast, lunch, or dinner is served. Treats are absolutely the way to Tanner’s heart and will be a great tool for building trust and continuing his socialization. A confident feline friend would be a wonderful match for Tanner and could help show him the ropes, but the right home may also be able to adopt him as a singleton. If he is the only cat, his person will need to be available and committed to giving him plenty of daily interaction and continued socialization. A home with children or dogs is not a good fit for Tanner. He needs a calm environment and someone who understands that building a relationship with him will take consistency and patience. Will Tanner eventually decide that laps and being held are wonderful? Maybe. He may also grow into an affectionate cat who simply prefers keeping all four paws on the ground. Either way, his person will get to know Tanner for who he is and have the joy of watching this handsome, adventurous boy become more comfortable and confident with humans every day.
