JR

Description

JR is a shy little guy with a sweet side that is already starting to shine through. He was the first of his sibling group to discover that cuddling with humans can actually be pretty great, even though he’s still learning to feel completely safe and confident around them. Once JR is comfortable, he loves cuddles, back scratches, and perhaps the quickest way to his heart—food! He is still fearful and will need daily positive interaction and reassurance to continue building his confidence. He’s made wonderful progress, but his new family should be prepared to keep that work going rather than expect him to immediately feel comfortable in a new environment. JR needs an experienced cat parent or someone who understands that socializing a nervous kitty takes patience, consistency, and lots of gentle encouragement. He needs someone who will work with his fears while continuing to lovingly show him that humans are safe. A confident feline friend will also be an important part of helping JR thrive. An older, friendly, self-assured cat would be ideal—someone who can show him the ropes, model confidence, and help reassure him that his new home is a safe place to be. JR may need a little more work than your average kitten, but he’s already shown just how much sweetness is waiting underneath that nervous exterior. Give him consistency, patience, some really good snacks, and plenty of butt scratches, and you’ll get the privilege of watching this sweet boy find his courage.
