Bailey

Description

Bailey is a 6 year old "mini" Australian shepherd who sadly had to be surrendered on 9/20/2026 due to issues with his owner's rental. He weighs around 25 pounds. He's very shy with new people and tends to bond very closely with someone once he trusts that person. Bailey does have a small "cherry eye", which he has had for a while, according to his former owner. It will be checked out when he goes to the vet on October 8th. He is already neutered but we're going to have a full check up done on him. His fee is $150. Bailey is looking for an adult only home in which he's not left alone for long hours. He needs someone who will be patient with him and give him time to adjust. Being brought to the shelter was very hard on him. Once he's comfortable with someone, he's very loving, playful, and loyal. He will require regular brushing to keep him free from matting and tangles. He should be okay with another smaller dog and probably wouldn't mind cats.  NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
