Meet Moose (formerly known as Swayze)a Age: 1 year, approx birthdate 7/1/25. Breed: lab/pit bull mix. Size: approx 65lbs. Training: leash, crate, and house trained. Good with dogs/cats? Yes to both. Good with men/women/kids? Yes. He can be timid at first so we feel older, understanding kids are best. Personality: friendly, affectionate, and playful. Reason for rescue: owner release, mom was hit by a car and they needed assistance with the pups. He is neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, and current on vaccinations and preventatives. His story began when he came into rescue at just 3 weeks old after his mom was tragically hit by a car. As a puppy, Moose was diagnosed with Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), a non-progressive neurological condition that can affect balance and coordination. But Moose has absolutely thrived! As he's grown, his symptoms have improved tremendously, and today you would hardly know he was ever our little "wobbly pup." Moose is about 65 lbs and is a happy, affectionate boy who loves to play and be part of the family. He does great with other dogs AND cats and loves his people. He can be a little shy when first meeting someone new, but give him a little time and his sweet personality quickly comes out. Moose was previously adopted and has been very loved, but unfortunately, due to circumstances completely beyond his control, he has found himself back in rescue and searching for a forever home once again. He's already overcome so much in his life.
