It's pretty impossible not to love Grace! Grace is about 3-4 months old, and she is a darling girl with the sweetest personality to match her adorable face. She is a little social butterfly who loves making new human and doggie friends. She is a moderate-energy pup who loves playtime and cuddles. Grace weighs about 9lbs and we think she will be around 40lbs when fully grown. Grace came to us with her sister, Frankie, from an overcrowded shelter in Central California. They were part of a litter of six puppies that came in with their mom. Their poor mom was malnourished, and the other four puppies bullied little Frankie and Grace so that they weren't able to nurse as much. The shelter staff separated them from their litter, and they slowly began gaining weight. They are now happy, healthy, and chunky girls! Their mom looks like an English bulldog mix, and the girls appear to also have some sort of other bully breed in their mix. We are looking for individual homes for Frankie and Grace so that they can get the one-on-one training and socialization to become well-rounded dogs. Grace is a curious girl who enjoys exploring and finding the best napping spot. She can often be found relaxing under her foster mom's chair, but is also more than happy to settle in a lap for cuddles. She would love to be your spoiled little baby. Grace is very food-motivated and has been doing well learning all of her basic manners. She will need a family committed to continuing her training and socialization. Grace loves playing with other dogs, and we think she would benefit from having another dog in her new home to mentor her. We haven't seen her around cats, but she is young enough that she could do well living with kitties after a slow introduction. Grace could make a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Grace has been doing great with her house training using pee pads and a doggie door, but she is still learning and will need a family who can be patient with her and be consistent with her training. She is used to being kept in a pen with her sister when no one is home, so she will need some time to acclimate to being alone. She will happily sleep through the night in her pen with her sister. Grace is such a wonderful little girl, and she is going to bring so much joy to her new family. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age.
