Chestnut (A143657) is a 6-month-old Pitbull mix who weighed 48 pounds on intake! 09/30/26 This playful guy is Chestnut! Chestnut was surrendered to the shelter and is looking for his new place to call home! Chestnut is deaf so he is looking for an owner who will be able to work with him and understand the added difficulty. He is a young rambunctious pup still working on his manners. He would benefit from attending a basic obedience class to continue working on his basic commands. Chestnut does have a rough style of play and can be a bit mouthy. If you have small kiddos in the home, this is something to keep in mind. We do not know his experience level with children or other pets. However, he did come in with another dog, Kisses. Please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new help set him up for success. Chestnut was said to be kennel-trained, housebroken, and rides well in a vehicle. However, it was noted that if the opportunity arose to get into the trash, he would take it! He was also known to be vocal.
