Description
Meet Klaus! Klaus is a sweet, approximately 3½-year-old neutered male Doberman who is looking for his forever home. This handsome boy is truly a gentle soul. He loves people of all ages and has been wonderful with children, including his 4-year-old human buddy. Klaus also enjoys the company of other dogs and does well with both male and female dogs. He would love a home where he can have a female canine companion. Klaus is not cat-friendly, so he will need a cat-free home. He knows his basic commands and has an excellent recall. He is not possessive over food or toys and is an all-around affectionate, loving boy. Klaus is currently up to date on his vaccinations and is being treated for allergies with Apoquel. He is finishing a course of prednisone and antibiotics for an allergy flare-up. His future family should be prepared to continue working with their veterinarian to manage his allergies. One area Klaus needs some continued work is leash walking. He tends to pull and can become reactive when he sees other dogs or animals while on leash. This is a very common behavior in many dogs called barrier frustration, he does very well with other dogs in appropriate off-leash settings, so his leash reactivity will be an important area for his new family to work on using positive, consistent training. Klaus is a loving, gentle Doberman who has so much to offer. He is looking for a family who will give him patience, structure, continued training, and most importantly, a permanent place to call home. https://www.uniteddobermanrescue.org/
