DELLA

Description

Coming to us as a stray after our officers responded to a call about her being on her finder’s property trying to get to their ducks, Della never made it to the ducks—but she did make her way safely to us. This little “duck commander” is now searching for a new life that includes a forever family. She had no microchip and no ID tag, leaving us with no way to contact an owner, if she had one.During her time with us, this sweetheart met a similar-sized neutered male, and their meeting was described with one perfect word: precious. This calm, kind girl simply let her new friend sniff her all over—just as welcoming as a pie-giving neighbor! You simply have to come meet Della in person and see if this adorable former duck commander is meant to spend the rest of her life with your family. We always recommend meet-and-greets with other dogs and children prior to adoption to ensure a great fit for everyone. We do not have information on how she does with cats, and we have no way to safely test this. She didn’t make it to the ducks, so we don’t have that information either. If you can’t promise forever, please wait until you can make that commitment before adopting. And remember the 3-3-3 Rule when adopting a shelter pet:3 days for your new pet to decompress3 weeks for your new family member to settle in3 months for them to build trustDella’s adoption fee is $40 through the end of day Saturday, October 3, 2026.All of our adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines and preventatives. Adopters will need to establish veterinary care after adoption to maintain their new family member’s health and wellness. Please bring a collar and leash, or you can purchase a combo from us for only $15 to safely take your new family member home.We are a first-come, first-served, in-person adoption center located at 430 Bristol Drive in Statesville, NC.Hours: Monday–Friday 12–5 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.–2 p.m.Della / A322148: 1-year-old, spayed female, 40.40 pounds#adoptfromicas #myicasrescue
