Adoption fee: $800 Meet the Saucy Puppies!Chimichurri • Harissa • Mole • Romanesco | 10 weeks old Some puppies are sugar and spice and everything nice. These four? They're a whole condiment department with paws, fluffy butts, and absolutely no business being this adorable. Meet the Saucy Puppies, a delicious little quartet of Maltese–CKC Spaniel mixes who are ready to add a generous helping of laughter, love, and puppy kisses to your life. At 10 weeks old, they're still figuring out the big wide world, but they've already mastered the important stuff: playing hard, napping harder, and looking ridiculously cute while doing absolutely nothing. Warning: Side effects of adopting a Saucy Puppy may include uncontrollable smiling, excessive camera roll growth, and suddenly referring to your dog as your favorite snack. Let's meet the menu, shall we? CHIMICHURRI — The Sauce Boss Chimichurri has appointed herself leader of the pack, head of recreation, and official lap inspector. Outgoing and incredibly playful, she's always on the lookout for a wrestling partner. Sit on the ground and she'll assume you've opened a puppy lounge, with your lap as the featured seating. Her gorgeous eyes have different colors thanks to heterochromia, but her sunny personality is every bit as captivating. Chimichurri approaches life with good vibes and an enthusiastic “Oh, you're here! This is wonderful!” She's ready to play, ready to cuddle, and always delighted to see you. She doesn't have a care in the world, unless you count the very pressing question of which sibling would like to wrestle next. Her leadership platform is simple: more playtime, more lap time, and absolutely no shortage of puppy kisses. HARISSA — Mildly Spicy, Extra Fluffy Harissa is a fluffy little potato with places to go and bushes to investigate. The curious explorer of the group, she likes being the first to discover a new spot and takes her daily rounds of the yard very seriously. Someone has to check whether anything exciting happened behind that shrub since breakfast. She has an independent streak, but a good scratch session can bring her expedition to an immediate halt. Harissa makes time for a few kisses before heading back out on patrol—a lovely balance of affection and “Please excuse me, I have important puppy business.” Her itinerary includes sightseeing, shrub inspections, and a brief stop at the human affection station. She's got a little spice, a lot of fluff, and a strict policy that all adventures should include scratch breaks. MOLE — The Sweetest Gentleman on the Menu Mole believes mornings should begin with proper pleasantries. Before he attends to his bathroom business, he needs to say hello. You may be holding the door open, but this little gentleman is still waiting for his greeting. He loves climbing into a warm lap, delivering a few kisses, and watching his siblings' shenanigans from the best seat in the house. Once he's satisfied that you've received your morning allotment of affection, he heads off to join the pack for some zoomies. Sweet, snuggly, and still very much a puppy, Mole makes room in his schedule for both cuddles and chaos. His morning checklist? Greet the human, kiss the human, cuddle the human. Then—and only then—discuss the bathroom situation. He's bringing excellent manners to a household where his siblings are probably wrestling under the table. ROMANESCO — The Comfort Connoisseur Romanesco is a quiet, affectionate little guy who knows the value of a good snuggle. He enjoys romping with his siblings, but his favorite way to take in the world is from a warm lap. Why stand when someone might be willing to hold you? He loves being carried and resting his little head on your shoulder, turning an ordinary moment into something awfully sweet. Morning outings sometimes require a little extra encouragement; Romanesco would like to point out that his bed is warm, cozy, and currently available. Once he's up, he's happy to join the fun—but he'll always appreciate an invitation back to cuddle. His preferred mode of transportation is you. His preferred destination is also you. If snuggling were a competitive sport, Romanesco would request that the awards ceremony be held in your lap. Life in the Sauce Kitchen These puppies have a surprisingly civilized routine for a bunch of tiny troublemakers. They wake up between 7 and 8 a.m. and politely wait for a human to appear. No barking, no crying, no tiny-paw percussion concert. They simply see you and announce, with their excited little faces, that the day's festivities may now begin. After a potty break, they enjoy backyard adventures, breakfast, indoor and outdoor playtime, and plenty of naps and cuddles. At bedtime, around 10 p.m., they settle down and sleep quietly through the night. Their favorite outdoor activities include chasing balls, exploring the yard, chewing sticks, and playing tug-of-war with toys. Sometimes you'll spot a puppy running around with two or three toys at once, because apparently one toy is an appetizer, two are a meal, and three means you're winning at life. They're also off to a promising start with potty training! They head toward their foster family's designated dog potty area when let outside, although their aim isn't always Michelin-star quality just yet. They're babies, after all, and they'll need continued patience, consistency, and training. When they first arrived, all four were cautious around people. They're now learning to trust at their own individual speeds, with some becoming outgoing cuddlebugs and others taking a little more time. They're also polite observers of the resident cat, watching her quietly from a respectful distance while she decides whether these tiny weirdos deserve her approval. The Story Behind Their Fresh Start The Saucy Puppies came from a situation that grew far beyond what their previous caretakers could manage. A concerned neighbor alerted Animal Control after noticing that there were too many dogs, and DPS Rescue was asked to help. The number of dogs had become overwhelming, and the people caring for them were no longer able to provide enough food for everyone. It was a situation consistent with animal hoarding, and these little ones needed a fresh start. They're now safe, receiving care, learning about the world, and discovering that life can be full of gentle hands, full bellies, soft beds, and people who show up for them. Their past is part of their story, but it doesn't have to define their future. With patient, loving families, these puppies have so much room to blossom. Is There Room for a Little More Sauce in Your Life? The Saucy Puppies are fluffy, huggable, kissable little bundles of potential. At just 10 weeks old, they'll need all the usual puppy essentials: continued potty training, socialization, positive reinforcement, supervision, patience, and plenty of appropriate chew toys. Their personalities are still developing, and their confidence will continue to grow with time and consistency. They'll do best with families who understand that puppies are adorable little works in progress, not fully assembled dogs delivered with an instruction manual. If you've been looking for a companion who can turn an ordinary Tuesday into a comedy special, make your heart melt with one tiny nose boop, or steal your favorite spot on the couch before you've even sat down, the Saucy Puppies might just be your perfect recipe. Each puppy will be adopted separately, so choose your favorite flavor and prepare for life to get a little saucier. Ready to add some flavor to your family? Time to fill out an application and come meet our pups! Because life's too short for bland puppies.
