Description
Jade is a sweet 2 year old spayed female cat, up to date on vaccines, who recently had a litter of kittens, and now is ready to find a home of her own! This is what her foster volunteers say about her: How would you describe the cat's general personality? Jade is very sweet, curious, affectionate, and playful. She is the perfect mix of independent and affectionate. She is confident and is not scared of almost anything!! Does the cat enjoy being pet? She loves pets!! If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? Base of the tail, side of her head Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? She doesn’t love her paws being touched-- she just gently pulls them away. This has made it tough to trim her nails Does the cat come on your lap? Not into our lap but she will sit right next to you, rub her face on your face, and ask for pets and affection. Does the cat like to be held? She will sometimes let you hold her for a few minutes, yes! She does not struggle much when you pick her up most of the time. Does the cat sleep in your bed? No, because she has not had the chance. We think she would though! Does the cat seek your attention? Yes!! She is happy to be on her own watching out the window, but she also loves to check on you, ask for pets, and rub her face on you. Does the cat like to play? Yes! What are the cat's favorite games and toys? Her favorite is probably her automatic “hide and seek” spin toy. She also loves a mouse toy or fuzzy worm wand toy. How vocal is the cat? Jade will meow A LOT if she is left alone in a room for some time. But if she’s content she is usually pretty quiet. What kinds of sounds does the cat make? Meowing of all kinds! Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Yes, she will scratch a designated cardboard scratcher or scratching post or will scratch the carpet. Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes, she has no issues. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? Two times a day 1/2 wet food, dry food also given at the same time for her to have throughout the day. Is the cat picky about food? No. We think she doesn’t prefer pate though. What is the cat's favorite treat? Squeezable treats! (Churu) What medication is the cat on, and how is it administered? She currently needs 1 more dose of de-wormer (we believe she is worm free now) but that is it Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? No. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? No. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? No. Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? Jade is very social with new people, she will go up to the person and greet them right away. If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on? Jade has interacted a few times with our other cat, Otto (1.5 Yr old male) a few times. Jade has hissed at Otto, but from what we observed no swatting or fighting between them. She seems to be warming up to him after about a week but is not super interested in him. We think she could be OK with another cat with a slow introduction. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? Jade is VERY curious. She loves exploring every corner of our home. She loves to stare out the window, and she loves to jump and climb around (we would recommend a tall cat tree!). She is very interested in what you are doing and wants to be involved. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? She is truly the perfect cat! She is SO sweet and not afraid of anything. She lets you hold her, loves affection and pets, but is also perfectly fine on her own as long as she has a good cat tree to climb and stare out the window. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? She does like to go through doors as you open them so ideally you’d have a 2 door system in your home so she can’t escape! She’s very curious about doors and wants to see what is on the other side.
