Description
Meet Champ! He is a total sweetheart who is ready to bring a lifetime of smiles to his forever family.Champ came from a hoarding situation where he lived outdoors with more than 47 other dogs. Despite his difficult start, this boy has turned out to be an incredibly happy, loving dog who is ready to enjoy the good life.Champ absolutely loves playing fetch, hanging out with other pups, and being right by your side. He’s a wonderfully quiet guy who occasionally lets out the cutest little “yodel” when he wants to express his happiness! He’s also a huge fan of mealtime, loves his food, and considers snoozing right next to his human the perfect way to spend an afternoon.Champ does have a mild neurological quirk that gives him a bit of a “happy hour” swagger — sometimes he walks like he’s had one too many juice boxes! You may also notice a tiny head shake when he’s focusing, and his vision may not be 20/20, so he appreciates treats being held right by his nose. He navigates stairs just fine on his own, although his signature move is occasionally “sliding” down them like a champ!None of these quirks cause him any pain, and his foster family says they barely notice them anymore. Champ has simply settled into being a normal, wonderful, goofy dog who happily blends into everyday life. After everything Champ has been through, it’s pretty special to see just how much joy he has to give. If you’re looking for a resilient, yodeling, world-class cuddler who loves dogs, food, fetch, and his people, Champ is your guy! They were rescued from a shelter in New Mexico.Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
