Butterball — A Professional Cuddler With a Little Hound Charm There are some puppies who seem to have an endless supply of energy, and then there is Butterball. This adorable boy has already figured out one of life’s most important lessons: there is always time for a good cuddle. Butterball is one of Biscuit’s very special 12 puppies, born after their momma was rescued from a difficult life as a stray living in the woods and searching neighborhood garbage cans for something to eat. A kind family took Biscuit in during the middle of May, only to discover that she was expecting a very large family. On July 11th, she gave birth to her dozen puppies, and foster mom Celeste took an entire month away from work to stay home and care for Biscuit and all of her babies. These puppies have truly been surrounded by love from the very beginning. Butterball is a white and light yellow hound mix with the sweetest freckles and that adorable hound look that somehow makes a puppy appear both innocent and just a tiny bit mischievous at the same time. But his personality is every bit as sweet as his face. He is a genuine love muffin who would much rather be curled up getting attention than running around trying to prove he can outrun everybody else. Being held is one of Butterball’s favorite things, and he is apparently taking his studies in cuddling very seriously. He is already an accomplished student, with belly rubs being another particular area of expertise. Give this boy a comfortable spot, a little affection and someone willing to rub his belly, and he will be perfectly happy to settle in and enjoy the good life. That doesn’t mean Butterball is boring. He loves exploring new places and discovering what the world has to offer, but he does it with a much more laid-back attitude. He is the kind of puppy who can enjoy an adventure and then happily come back to you for some quiet time. There is something wonderfully comforting about his personality—sweet, calm, affectionate and just happy to be included. Butterball is expected to be a wonderful companion and has been great with other animals and children. He has the kind of easygoing nature that could make him a fantastic addition to a family looking for a puppy who wants to be part of everything but doesn’t feel the need to be the center of attention every second. We have a feeling Butterball is going to be one of those dogs people talk about years later—the dog who was always there for a cuddle, always happy to see you, and somehow managed to make an ordinary day feel a little better. He is ready now and waiting for the family who will appreciate just how special this freckled little love muffin really is.
