✨ UPDATE!! MEET SWEET ELLA! ✨ This precious little senior is Ella, and if ever there were a girl who deserved to spend her golden years being spoiled rotten, it’s her. Ella came to us from a local overcrowded shelter after being dumped in her golden years—almost completely blind and deaf. Imagine being an elderly, tiny 7.5-lb girl suddenly finding yourself in a loud, unfamiliar shelter unable to see or hear what was happening around you. She arrived severely matted, suffering from skin and eye infections, and absolutely terrified. Her matting was so severe that she had to be sedated and completely shaved down. She has since started antibiotics and eye medication, and she is looking and feeling better every single day! Her teeth aren’t in the best condition, but because of her age and overall condition, we did not want to keep her under anesthesia any longer than necessary. Thankfully, that doesn’t slow Ella down at mealtime! She eats hard food like a champ—and she certainly doesn’t complain when she gets some wet food as a special treat. And despite everything this little girl has been through, she is THRIVING. Ella is quite possibly one of the sweetest and easiest little dogs you could ever meet. She would happily sit in your lap and cuddle all day long. She LOVES belly rubs, and her tiny tail goes just as fast as it possibly can the entire time. She is incredibly calm and perfectly content spending most of her day napping. But take her outside, and she comes alive for 10–20 minutes of exploring, enjoying all the smells and soaking up the sunshine. ☀️ When she’s finished, she can find her way right back to the door to let you know she’s ready to go inside! At night, Ella will sleep soundly with you or happily in her own bed. Right now, she sleeps in a bassinet beside her foster’s bed, snuggled into fuzzy blankets—and honestly, she blends right in. As long as Ella is taken outside 2–3 times a day, she has had absolutely no accidents. She can even be left comfortably in her bassinet and will patiently wait for her foster to come get her. Ella is wonderful with dogs of ALL sizes, cats, and children. We believe she would absolutely thrive in an older, calmer home with someone who wants a little companion to dote on and spoil like the queen she deserves to be. Ella is at least 12 years old, possibly older, and weighs only 7.5 lbs. She is UTD, spayed, and her heartworm test was negative (tested below detectable levels). Her hair may be gone right now, but just wait until it grows back. She’s going to be absolutely gorgeous. Although, if you ask us, she’s already pretty perfect. ❤️ Ella still has plenty of spunk, plenty of personality, and SO much love left to give. We just know her special person is out there—the person who will look past her age and disabilities and see what her foster family sees: A tiny little girl who deserves to spend every single one of her remaining days safe, comfortable, loved, and treated like royalty. Our adoptions are NOT first come, first served, and there is NO fee to apply. We work hard to find the home that is the best fit for each individual animal. We never state that any animal is fully house-trained. New environments, situations, families, and routines can result in accidents, even with animals who have done wonderfully in foster care. ADOPTION FEE: $195 This includes a vet check, age-appropriate vaccinations (at least 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm testing if over 6 months old, rabies vaccination if at least 16 weeks old, and spay/neuter. Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue is an ALL-VOLUNTEER rescue. Please allow our volunteers time to respond to inquiries and applications. Thank you for your patience and understanding! ❤️ ADOPTION APPLICATION LINK IN BIO! https://form.jotform.us/70898112177159 Please SHARE Ella! Somewhere out there is a soft lap, a warm bed, and a very special person who needs this little old lady just as much as she needs them. ✨
