✨ UPDATE!! MEET MELODY! ✨ Sweet Melody has already been through so much, and now she needs our help finding the home where she can truly be happiest. ❤️ Melody’s story began with us back in January during a cold snap, when she was spotted running as a terrified stray. Volunteers followed her, and this brave momma led them straight to her newborn puppies. Melody was emaciated and covered in flea dermatitis, yet she was giving absolutely everything she had to keep her babies alive. She was so frightened that volunteers had to trap her just to get her to safety. What followed was 7 months in foster care, where this deserving girl slowly learned that she was safe. She gained weight, healed physically, began learning to trust, and made an absolutely wonderful recovery. ❤️ Melody was eventually adopted, and everyone hoped her story had reached its happily-ever-after. Unfortunately, her adopters have realized that Melody simply isn’t happiest as an only dog. They love her enough to recognize what she needs and want to do what is best for her. MELODY NEEDS A HOME WITH OTHER DOGS! She truly enjoys having canine companions to play with, spend time with, and simply keep her company. We believe another friendly pup—or pups—will help Melody feel more comfortable and confident in her new home. Melody is a Shepherd mix, approximately 2–3 years old, and now weighs around 50 lbs. at a healthy weight. Look how far this girl has come! She is a laid-back sweetheart who does well with children and does great in the house. Because of everything she experienced before coming into rescue, Melody will likely be a little shy while adjusting to another new environment. She just needs a family willing to give her the time and patience to realize she is safe. Once she settles in—especially with some furry friends beside her—we know this girl can THRIVE. ❤️ Melody is UTD, heartworm tested, spayed, and ready to find her PERFECT match! Our adoptions are NOT first come, first served, and there is NO fee to apply! We work to find the home that is the best match for each individual animal. We never state that any animal is fully house-trained. New environments, situations, families, and routines can lead to accidents—even with animals who have done wonderfully in their previous homes or foster homes. ADOPTION FEE: $195 The adoption fee includes a vet check, age-appropriate vaccinations (at least 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm testing if over 6 months old, rabies vaccination if at least 16 weeks old, and spay/neuter. ❤️ Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue is an ALL-VOLUNTEER rescue.
