Meet Boomer — a sweet little guy who is still learning that being someone’s dog is a pretty wonderful thing. ❤️   Boomer is a 45 pound, one-year-old Poodle mix who, along with his 2 brothers, was abandoned when a tenant left them and his grey Poodle dad,  behind at a cabin in the woods. They were actually all 4 left in crates and had to wait to be discovered and rescued many days later. They had known both indoor and outdoor life before that, but suddenly being left behind like that was a pretty confusing and scary experience for these boys.   So, it’s no surprise that Boomer can be a little sensitive when everything around him is new. He may not be the guy who marches through the door on day one like he owns the place. He’s more of a “let me look around, figure this out and make sure everything is okay” kind of guy.   And honestly, once Boomer decides everything really is okay, he is pretty amazing and  sweet.   He has been living in a house now and is doing well. He is discovering the joys of being comfortable, having a soft place to curl up and getting to spend his days around people. He’s learning that a house isn’t something to be unsure of—it’s where the good stuff happens.   Boomer is smart, loving and eager to learn. He just needs someone who understands that confidence doesn't always happen overnight. Give him a little patience, a predictable routine and some kindness, and you’ll get to watch this sweet boy come out of his shell.   Once he settles in, expect a happy little companion who wants to be part of things. He has a gentle nature and a sweetness about him that makes you want to reassure him that he has finally landed somewhere good.   And maybe that's what Boomer needs most—not anything fancy, not a perfect home, just a person who will let him take a breath, get comfortable and realize that this time, he's not being left behind.   This boy deserves to know what it feels like to be somebody's dog. To have a favorite bed. A favorite person. A routine. A home. And most importantly, to know that when his person walks out the door, they're coming back.   We think Boomer is going to be awfully easy to love. ❤️.
