Meet River: The German Shepherd Social Butterfly!When you picture a 10-month-old German Shepherd, you might brace yourself for a tornado of puppy energy—but River is here to pleasantly surprise you! This gorgeous girl has a wonderfully calm and grounded personality, bringing the perfect balance of gentle playfulness and relaxed energy to the table.River is an absolute social butterfly who genuinely loves every single person and dog she meets. Thanks to her brilliant working-breed brain and fantastic attention span, she already walks beautifully on a leash and absolutely loves to learn. She is a girl who appreciates her downtime, too; she loves hanging out in her cozy crate and will happily trade training sessions for snuggle time on the couch. While she is still putting the finishing touches on her potty training, her eager-to-please nature means she will master it in no time with a little consistency and positive reinforcement!Her ideal home would include a fenced in yard, and possibly another doggy friend to play with though I am sure she would love to also soak up all your love and attention as an only fur baby!  She has lived with children and has done well with them though she is a bit of a jumper and will need someone who can continue to teach boundaries. However a plus with children is that she has such a soft mouth when being offered treats of any kind!  We are not sure about cats though she takes corrections well and seems to respect her foster brother and sisters when she forgets her manners so we think she would most likely be fine with proper introductions.  If you are looking for a loyal, intelligent, and incredibly sweet shepherd who brings all the love without the typical puppy chaos, River is your dream girl. She is ready to fill your home with doggy kisses, focused training sessions, and a whole lot of cozy cuddles and is available through Paws Across Pittsburgh as soon as October 3rd!  This gem of a girl deserves a gem of a family, and we hope that is you!
