09/21/26 18:04Senior female spayed domestic shorthair who was found stray, with spay tattoo and a dead-end microchip. She is handleable for physical exam and treatments.Due out: 9/25/26This cat has the following abnormalities on physical exam and senior labwork:- IRIS Stage II chronic kidney disease (CKD)- Heavy dental calculus requiring professional dental cleaning (no stomatitis, no tongue ulceration, and minimal gingivitis at visible gumline, though calculus is covering some areas of gums where there may be more significiant gingivitis)- Generalized muscle wasting and body condition score of 3/9- Carpal and tarsal laxity (wrists and ankles `sink` slightly at a walk) - bloodwork does NOT show any evidence of diabetes- Slightly abnormal gait in hind end - also known as `ataxia` - this cat over-reaches when stepping and has a slightly high-stepping gait in the rear legs -- the cause is unknown and may be related to central or peripheral neurologic disease or related to hip discomfort (arthritis); advanced imaging would be needed to determine exact cause- Dicomfort on full hip extension - possible hip arthritis- Equivocally uncomfortable on belly palpation on initial exam 9/21This cat is FELV neg/FIV neg and Feline Heartworm Test negUrgent rescue needed - this senior cat would need:- Monitoring and maintance of it's stage 2 kidney disease - at this stage, kidney diet is typically recommended- Dental cleaning and any further oral treatment needed - Pain management for suspected hip arthritis- Close monitoring for any progressive weakness in the tendons or progressive weakness in the back legs - Close monitoring for progressive weight loss
