Meet Plum!Plum is not your average 6-month-old puppy.This Labrador/Dutch Shepherd mix is an exceptionally confident, curious, athletic, and energetic young dog who is always looking for something to do. She has a ton of personality, a huge amount of stamina, and an impressive determination to figure things out. If there is something interesting happening, Plum wants to be right in the middle of it!She loves to explore, learn, problem-solve, play, and use her nose. She confidently navigates new environments and doesn’ t tend to let unfamiliar obstacles stop her. Tunnels? She’ ll figure them out. Water? She loves it. Something interesting on the other side of an obstacle? She’ ll work out how to get there.Plum is also very food motivated and has a particular weakness for plush toys. She isn’ t especially interested in the typical toys required for search-and-rescue she is food motivated and works for stuffed toys ,so we aren’t necessarily looking for a formal working-dog home for her unless the motivator can be food or stuffed toys. She needs a job or a home that understands just how much this little dog has going on between her ears and gives her plenty of appropriate outlets.Plum would thrive with people who genuinely enjoy training and interacting with their dog. She needs more than a couple of walks around the block and some backyard time. Think training sessions, sniffing games, adventures, puzzle toys, exploring new places, learning tricks, hiking, swimming, and activities that give her both physical and mental exercise.She is also still very much a puppy, and that means her enthusiasm can sometimes exceed her ability to focus. She may have a little bit of an “ooh, what’s that?!” attention span at times. Her new family will need to be patient, consistent, and willing to help her learn how to channel all of that energy and curiosity into appropriate behaviors.Plum is the kind of dog who could be an absolute blast for the right person. She is confident without being shut down by new experiences, incredibly curious, physically capable, and eager to engage with the world around her.She may not be the easiest puppy, but she has the potential to be an incredibly fun, versatile companion for someone who wants a dog they can actually do things with.Plum needs a home that will give her a purpose—not necessarily a formal job, but a life full of training, adventure, enrichment, and involvement.If you’ re looking for a puppy who will happily spend her days lounging on the couch, Plum probably isn’ t your girl.But if the idea of having a smart, energetic, slightly chaotic little adventure buddy sounds like fun, Plum would love to meet you.
