Description

Neeka's life has been a bit of a roller coaster and she is looking to coast into the station and take it easy for the rest of her time. She has lived with other dogs but is ready for her own space, she met and played well with another dog but once out of TJO the play style of both dogs escalated. Neeka came back to TJO having decided that she is done with non-human roommates and is looking forward to someone who will enjoy her pretending to be a lap dog.OTHER PETS: Neeka needs her own space and will only be adopted out as a single pet. [Only Pet]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Experience with positive reinforcement or willingness to learn will be an ideal fit. Neeka is a playful girl who is working on keeping all paws on the floor, and loose-leash walking with high value treats and patience as she learns while having fun. [Some Experience] KIDS: Neeka is playful with humans but uncomfortable with some handling; she will solicit attention but still drops to the ground if she is startled by a movement, touch (especially of her back legs,) or noise. In addition, Neeka can be jumpy when aroused and while on leash - she may become worried around or inadvertently injure a smaller human. [Adults Only]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Neeka enjoys playing with humans more than she does playing with toys, although enthusiasm for toys could be developed once she decompresses. A combination of regular exercise and mental enrichment such as sniffing, food puzzles, and learning new tricks will help meet her needs while having fun.
