Meet Mr. Worldwide! This handsome 11-week-old Pit Bull Terrier mix is a 20-pound bundle of curiosity, mischief, and nonstop puppy charm. And yes, there’s a story behind that memorable name! Mr. Worldwide was named after Pitbull because he was one of the Pet Haven puppies who got to hang out backstage at the Pitbull concert at Mystic Lake on September 26. Talk about a puppy with a pretty cool introduction to the world!Mr. Worldwide loves other dogs and would be thrilled to have a playful canine sibling who enjoys wrestling and puppy shenanigans as much as he does. He currently lives with two puppy foster brothers, and wrestling with them is his absolute favorite activity. If he is the only dog in his new home, his family will need to make sure he gets regular opportunities for play and socialization with other friendly pups.He is also a big fan of his humans and is definitely a velcro puppy. He does not enjoy being left out of the action, but thankfully, he handles separation well and is not anxious or excessively vocal when his people leave. Instead, he happily settles down with a toy to chew. He loves all kinds of toys too, from squeaky and crinkly to bouncy, fluffy, and hard!Mr. Worldwide has met the foster family's 3- and 7-year-old grandchildren and has been around children at adoption events. Like most puppies, he loves to explore the world with his mouth, but he is easily redirected to a chew toy. He is also very enthusiastic when greeting people and likes to jump up to say hello. He is small enough now that his jumping isn't much of a problem, but his family will want to continue working on polite greetings as he grows.He is doing well with potty training and has learned that going potty outside earns him treats. He has good signals when he needs to go, although sometimes there isn't much time between his signal and needing to get outside! When he can't make it, he uses potty pads. He is also doing well with his crate. He willingly goes in at bedtime, settles quickly, and sleeps quietly through the night. He even enjoys snoozing in his open crate during the day. His unique morning bark, which sounds a little like he has a cold and is clearing his throat, is his special way of letting his foster family know it's time to go outside.Mr. Worldwide is likely to be a medium-energy dog who will enjoy a good daily walk along with plenty of active playtime. A fenced yard is not required, although he is very interested in following Mom or Dad out the door and can be persistent about joining the adventure. Continued work on door manners will be important.Healthy, happy, curious, cuddly, and always ready for the next adventure, Mr. Worldwide is looking for a family who will enjoy all the fun that comes with raising a playful puppy. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
