Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Coy #2 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Coy #2 | 1 ½-Year-Old Mixed Breed | Built Low, Loves Big Coy is a 1 ½-year-old mixed-breed sweetheart with a soft white coat, a big personality, and an adorably unique build—think big dog in a slightly shorter package. He is affectionate, easygoing, and happiest when he is close to his people. Coy is fully house trained and usually lets you know he needs to go out by standing at the door, although, as with any dog adjusting to a new environment, accidents can happen while he settles in. He walks well on leash, although he may pull a little when he's eager to keep up with the other dogs. He absolutely loves other dogs and enjoys romping, wrestling, and making new friends. He may bark excitedly when new dogs arrive, but it's a "let's play!" kind of bark. He has done well with all the dogs in his foster home and peacefully coexists with cats, whom he mostly ignores. Coy has a medium energy level and is happy with a couple of walks or play sessions each day before settling in for some serious relaxing and cuddling. He loves toys, chew bones, tug-of-war, and a good sploot. He can be crated if needed and may briefly protest, but settles quickly. When left home alone with his canine companions, he has been an absolute angel. Coy responds well to structure and gentle boundaries and is very eager to please. If he realizes he's done something he shouldn't, his usual response is to flop onto his back and ask for forgiveness in the form of belly rubs. Despite weighing around 40 pounds, Coy is firmly convinced he is a lap dog and will happily climb right onto you for maximum closeness.     If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $450. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here .
