Meet Koa, a vibrant and resilient three-year-old pit bull mix who traveled all the way from Arkansas to Minnesota with a heart full of hope and a tail ready to wag. Her journey started in a very dark place where she was found chained outside with minimal food and water, surviving against all odds in a state of severe malnourishment. She has gained some weight back, but could gain a bit more. It is a true miracle that she made it through, but what is even more shocking is her capacity to love. Despite the severe neglect of her past, Koa holds absolutely no grudges and craves human affection above all else.   This social butterfly is the ultimate all-around companion. Koa is wonderfully friendly and gets along great with other dogs, children, and even cats. She recently proved just how adaptable and stable she is during a trip to a local Renaissance Festival, where she handled the bustling crowds, strange sights, loud sounds, and delicious smells like an absolute pro, happily soaking up the attention of everyone who came up to greet her.   Living with Koa is a breeze. She appears to be completely house-trained, rides beautifully in the car for any adventure, and walks like a perfect lady on a leash. True to her youthful spirit, she loves to bounce around and play when it is time for fun, making her a joyful presence in any home. Her only real quirk is that she is vocal when in her kennel, so she would do best with no shared walls. Koa survived the unimaginable, and now she is ready to leave her past behind forever and find the true, loving home she has always deserved. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
