AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ADOPTION A tiny bundle of joy and curiosity, Java Bean is an 11-week-old miniature labradoodle mix whose heart is as big as her brown eyes. Weighing only 4 ½ pounds she is feisty and likes running around the house (she raises her front paws as she walks which is cute to watch). The vet is estimating she’ll be around twelve pounds when fully grown so Java is destined to remain petite which is perfect for small dog lovers. She has very short legs but still runs very fast happily enjoying a dog’s life. Overall she is very calm and content happy she is inside a home. Java’s days are filled with her own routines and playful antics. Among her favorite things: Dog Beds, Laps and Feet: When Java sees a dog bed at the foster house (there are numerous) she decides to crawl in it claiming it as “her place” She adores curling up on laps or nestling at someone's feet, often expressing her affection with gentle, playful nibbles on toes. Shadowing Her Humans: Java is never happier than when she's trailing her people from room to room, always eager to be close and part of their world. And she gets so excited when attention is given to her. Toys and Chews: Anything that squeaks or rolls instantly captures Java’s attention. She’ll spend long stretches chewing on plush animals, especially the ones bigger than her. Teething is a new adventure, so puppy-safe chews are a staple, offering comfort and distraction as she explores the world through her mouth. When she decides she is done playing she takes a short nap in the nearest dog bed then right back to playing. Outdoor Explorations: Java is enchanted by the great outdoors. Even a quick stroll in the backyard becomes an expedition she runs around with her short legs like a rabbit. Curiosity and Socialization: Java’s inquisitive spirit and eagerness to meet new friends, both human and canine, has her on the go. She greets every encounter with a wagging tail and kisses if possible. As lively as she is during play, Java cherishes moments of stillness. She’s happiest when nestled beside someone she trusts.   When the foster mother works from home Java positions herself on the dog bed next to the computer desk settling in for a nap or to just to watch her. When she gets in a mood to play she thinks her foster mother’s toes/shoes are toys (we are working on that)! She can be the only dog in the house or can live with another dog. Java adjusted immediately to her foster home that has one 20-pound dog (fyi – Java will go after the other dog’s food so the adopter will need to keep dogs separated during feeding time until Java fully learns her boundaries). Since she is very young puppy and has not had all her shots, Java has never been exposed to walking on a leash. Therefore, the adopter will need to help Java become relaxed with a collar and leash on and learn to walk on a sidewalk. Java has had NO potty training. Due to being at a breeder’s facility, she was kept in a crate for the first few months of her life so had no experience with pee pads or a grass yard. The foster family is familiarizing her with them and Java has made some progress going on the porch. Her adopter will need to plan on teaching her the correct place to go the bathroom. Because of Java’s tiny size 4LD can only adopt her to a home that has older children (no babies or toddlers) or a home without children. Java will need to have the remainder of her shots that are required for puppies. She also needs to be spayed before the adoption can be considered as final, which follows the rescue organization’s guidelines. The adoption fee covers puppy shots, rabies shot, dewormer, microchip, and spay which will be completed over the next 3 months. She can go to her permanent home now, but the adopter must be willing to take Java to one of the rescue veterinary clinics for the remainder of her vetting. Our facilities are in Riverview, St. Petersburg, Wesley Chapel, and Sarasota so her new owner will need to live close to one of those locations (adopter’s choice) and plan to travel to these a few different times. With rescue organizations the adoption is not considered complete until all the puppy vet needs are done so that is why she is considered as “pre-adopt”. --------------------- Java’s adoption fee is $850. She is currently being fostered in the Plant City area. The average lifespan for this breed is 15 years. Therefore, Java’s adopter will need to be prepared to care for her for that amount of time so she will not have to move to a different home.     ***We are a foster-based rescue with no shelter or facility to view our dogs, and our address is a mailing address only. Please be patient as we are an all-volunteer rescue, and our rescue dogs are in various loving foster homes throughout West-Central Florida.
