Description

Location: Madison, GA Brooklyn’s life before now is a mystery, but this mature lady is ready to make up for lost time and live her best life! Brooklyn is a full-size cattle dog, but she doesn’t throw her weight around, preferring to get to know the critters around her before really diving in. And in her foster home, Brooklyn is surrounded by  a lot  of critters… life on a farm has come with many new introductions: dogs, cats, sheep, goats, and a bunny! Brooklyn has taken it all in stride, and she listens to her foster mom when advised that something might not be the best choice. For example, while she sometimes thinks that cats are worthy of a taste test, she does great when supervised. Her dog brothers and sisters play rough, and so Brooklyn has needed some time to check them out, but she has started to join in on the fun! Compared to other cattle dogs, though, Brooklyn is low energy. She loves to roll around in the morning and go for walks around the farm, but she’s also happy to plop down in the sun for a nice afternoon nap. Brooklyn is spayed and up to date on her vaccines and flea and tick medicine. She is potty trained and happily sleeps through the night in a crate or dog bed or on the couch (she’d probably also enjoy a human bed, but it’s currently quite full!). When meeting people, Brooklyn can be a bit shy and nervous, which she shows by licking you. She is also very food motivated (but not at all aggressive), which means that once she feels confident, she’ll likely be easy to train. Although timid at first  and not afraid to set boundaries with other nosy dogs , Brooklyn would probably like a home with another dog or two (as long as they’re not too rough!) and lots of time to be outside in the sun or to go on walks. As far as cattle dogs go, she’s a great, low-key lady who still has lots of years, licks, and cuddles to give!
