We spent time with them apart and saw how much happier and more confident they are side by side. At Loyal Rescue, their happiness and well-being guide every decision we make. Crate Trained: Yes Ok with Dogs: Yes Ok with Cats: Unknown Ok with Kids: She hasn’t been around children in her foster home, so we don’t yet know how she’ll respond. New people and experiences can feel a little overwhelming for her, and she’s learning to trust at her own pace. A calm, gentle introduction would help her feel comfortable. Origin: Mass breeding facility  Requirements: A fenced yard, someone home part of the day, children over 12 years old who are dog savvy, mill dog experience an asset  And now, a few words from me: My favourite place is the backyard! I love racing around with my sister Pennie and our foster brother, especially when one of us grabs a toy. I’m fast, and I love meeting other dogs who come to visit. When I’ve had my fill of running, you’ll find me in my second favourite spot: the end of the couch. I spent my first years in a puppy mill, so I’m still getting used to people and all the new things in my world. My foster mom says I’m smart and notices every little step I take, like following her up the stairs when it’s time to go inside. If I feel unsure, I can take a break in my crate or behind the table. As I settle in, I’m doing that less often. I use the yard for potty breaks and a pee pad if I can’t quite hold it. Pennie and I are looking for a family who will give us time to feel at home. We have so much joy to share!   And now, a few words from my foster mom: Popcorn is a bright, observant girl who likes to take everything in. She adores Pennie and loves sitting close to her. She also likes being near her people, although she’s still learning to trust touch, and feels most comfortable when she can choose how close to come. Being picked up is something she’s still getting used to. Outdoors, Popcorn’s playful side shines. She runs, explores and follows every interesting smell. If you’re relaxing on the deck, she’s happy to lie nearby in the sunshine. Inside, she enjoys a nap on the end of the couch and the challenge of getting a treat out of her Kong. An unexpected noise may startle her and prompt a bark, but she is growing more comfortable as she settles into foster care. Popcorn needs a securely fenced yard and a patient family who will let her build confidence at her own pace. She is still learning to walk on a leash. She enjoys the company of other dogs and would welcome more furry friends, with Pennie beside her. Give Popcorn and Pennie time, love and a home together, and you’ll have the wonderful experience of watching this clever little girl grow more confident each day.
