Hi my names Hammy and I’m so excited to be best friends. I’m a year and a half old and everything still seems so new and exciting!    I have lots of energy and love to play which sometimes gets me into trouble. Mostly I only get into trouble when I play keep away with my friends shoes and socks. I never chew them up but boy is it fun to run around the house with them.    I’m working on walking with a leash and that goofy gentle leader thing (I really don’t like that thing). Please be patient with me while I’m learning I just want to run and I want you to come with me so I pull sometimes too hard, after a little bit I can relax a little and enjoy the scenery.    Toys are fine and I can and occasionally do play fetch, but my favorite thing is to wrestle my doggy friends and chase them around. My current foster mom has a big 100lb dog, a kitty, and an 11year old child that I enjoy although the kitty isn’t so sure about me-I don’t chase her at all.    I need to have a home with a fence or a long run line so I can play with friends and get some energy out.    I love food and treats and bones are my new favorite, which is good cuz foster mom says I’m skinny.    I’ve only had one accident in the house, but that was because I had a belly ache otherwise I happily go potty outside (once you catch me). I do well in my kennel during the day (but I do bark a few times before settling in) and I get to sleep on the couch for bedtime and sprawl out with all my toys I’ve been told I’m a good boy for not getting into trouble on my own overnight.    I’m learning my boundaries with my humans and my animal friends. I found out they don’t always want to play like me, but I’ll happily lean in for any affection. I love getting pets, and kisses, and sniffing those I love. When I cuddle you I want to be right on top of you but because I’m a medium sized dog I find that’s not always welcomed either.  I’m learning commands like: no, stay, sit, come, and off. I could benefit from training and foster mom says she’s going to bring me soon :)   I’m a really good, smart, and loving boy. My FURever home and people should be familiar with big high energy dogs who just need a proper outlet to tire me out. I love to sniff and search being that I’m part wolfhound I’d love to do more of that! I play hard and would benefit from an older dog who can show me the ropes and teach me how to be part of the pack.    I can’t wait to make new best friends and find my FURever.  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
