Meet Nena, the gorgeous white female cat. Nena came to the Shelter after her previous family was unable to continue caring for her. Nena is a bit of a wallflower – tending to keep to herself and observe things from a distance before deciding if she wants to participate. She may need time to transition to her adoptive home and bond with her people. Her first few days at the Shelter, she tended to hide. When given the time and space, she comes out and purrs away while headbutting hands for pets. Nena was indoors only in her previous home and is recommended to have a similar set up in the next one. She used the litterbox reliably. She does have some experience around a 1 year old granddaughter. She has some experience with visiting cat-savvy dogs. Any dogs in the home should be introduced in a slow, thoughtful manner. Nena is available for pre-adoption. Come meet her, fall in love and take her home after her spay surgery. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
