Meet Pretty Portia!   This adorable Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso mix was found wandering as a stray in a rural community northwest of Nashville. She was hungry, frightened, and severely matted—clear signs she hadn’t been cared for and had likely been on her own for some time.   After her grooming, a new Portia emerged. She joyfully ran up and down the animal control hallway until she tired herself out. That was when Mr. Randy knew he had to find a rescue for her. With a quick call to Miss Peggy, Portia was soon on her way to her foster home.   Portia is a bit hesitant at first and may need a couple of days to settle in. Once she is comfortable and knows you are her person, she will become your loyal companion—rarely leaving your side and always wanting to know where you are and what’s happening.   Portia gets along well with other dogs and has a wonderful time playing with her foster sister, Molly. They romp and run together in the fenced yard. Portia is also good with cats.   She loves to play but is equally happy to settle in for TV time and snuggle next to you. Portia rides well in the car and will be a great companion for any outing. If you’re looking for a diamond in the rough, Portia could be the perfect addition to your family—just give her a few days to settle in.
