Millie (bonded with Vern)

Description

Millie and Vern are a bonded pair (meaning they can only be adopted together). This beautiful couple was living outside at a local campground for years. An individual from the campground had them fixed years ago and kept an eye on them but could not bring them into her home because of other pets in the home. She cared for them so the thought of them spending another winter outside was too much and contacted us. Once we had space we were happy to add them into our crew. These two cats are amazing! We knew they had been together for years but that does not always mean cats are bonded but these two certainly are. Once we completed their intake process we were able to reunite them in a room together and it was one of the most heart warming things I have ever witnessed. Vern seemed to be pretty withdrawn during his initial time with us but once he realized Millie was there and he was able to be with her again his entire face changed, he sat up right away and for the first time he started meowing. It was the first time we heard his "voice" since arriving. Millie who is younger and a bit more outgoing than Vern instantly responded back to Vern with the sweetest voice and went to where he was laying. They touched noses and started grooming each other. It was like they were saying "I missed you so much".  Vern specifically really seemed to come alive once he knew Millie was there. It was a beautiful to watch and we do not want them to ever be separated again. They are certainly better together.  Millie is a beautiful silver/grey tabby. She is outgoing and affectionate. Vern is exceptionally mellow. As long as he has Millie he seems happy. He does enjoy soft pets and kind words. Millie and Vern are both very kind and accepting to other cats. In fact, they have currently taken a kitten who arrived the same time as them under their wings. She snuggles by both of them and they will groom her as well. Vern will even let her eat his food after she finishes her own. These two seem grateful for food and safety. They enjoy being feed consistently, warm beds, and a window to feel the sunshine. Vern and Millie are both mellow cats that just want to be loved and cared for by a family that understands their commitment to each other. I think these two will fit into most any family as long as they are together FOREVER.
