For more information, please contact mikliese@hotmail.com   Bio and Personality:  Otis is a 4 year old, 50lbs, hound mix. He loves to run and play, almost as much as he loves to sleep and snuggle. He happily joins long runs and long naps. He can play catch and is famous for leaping and twirling in the air to hit his mark. Otis is a smart, loving, playful lifetime companion. He is so deserving of a forever home where can show his people how much he loves them. Otis is at his best when he can get in two good walks a day plus some play time. In between, you can usually find him curled up on the coziest surface of the house, including under your covers. Otis would do best in a home with older kids and a yard to play in.   Training/Behavioral and Medical:  Otis is trained in all basic commands and walks well with a gentle lead. He's crate-trained and we've been working on barking, but he is very smart and picks up things very quickly. Otis is a neutered, up-to-date on vaccines including heartworm, and microchipped. He has no medical conditions or special dietary needs. He does love to eat fruits and veggies with his kibble!   Otis was rescued from downtown Chicago at about 4 years old. He shows signs that he endured a lot before he was rescued, but is very eager to overcome his past. For example, he is sometimes reactive around bikes if they surprise him and is fearful of smoke. That said, he had a bite incident a few months ago when he was overstimulated. His owner recounted that the one and only isolated incident occurred when he was on leash in a narrow walkway and a bike was swiftly coming up behind him. This made him nervous and his owner did not read the situation.  Then, a woman approached from the front and tried to pet him. He snapped at her with just a single bite. Happy to share details with anyone interested in this sweet boy, who absolutely deserves another chance. He needs to be thoughtfully introduced to other dogs, and has become pals with them all.  He has previously lived with a senior cat that he liked to groom. He's always been incredibly gentle and patient with kids. He is currently fostered with 2 other dogs who he loves to play with (one big and one small), and children. Otis is such a good, gentle, loving, playful boy who really needs to land in his forever home.   Rehoming Fee: Negotiable with background and home check
