A SWEET SENIOR FELLOW: Approx. 12 years old / Approx. 56 lbs. Hi there, I'm Boomer! I was adopted along with another dog named Vixey, who is also available for adoption, when we were both puppies. Sadly, my family is relocating and reports that they cannot take either of us with them. This makes us sad, but we're now in a wonderful foster home and feeling hopeful about the future! We don't have to be adopted together, but if you're looking for two older sweet dogs, please consider both of us.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I've liked the other dogs I've met, and I must have another gentle sweet dog in my new home to hang around with. I don't play; I just need the security of another dog friend, so let's meet. I formerly went to doggie daycare and did well there, but I think I'm past the playing stage. / Cats unknown. / I haven't met kids yet in my foster home, but my former family reported that I liked the kids I met while I was with them, though I don't recall their ages, so if you have kids, let's meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: My foster reports that I'm a big, sweet, goofball who is pretty happy-go-lucky, as long as I have another dog in my home to hang out with. They also say that I have a calm nature and have been very well-behaved, I don't even get on the furniture or counter surf. I've been great with all people I've met and in fact, I don't like being left without people, so I do a little barking and moaning when left. I'd be happiest with a family member who is home a good bit, such as a work-from-home or stay-at-home family member. I'm a sweet old soul that just wants to be around you and enjoy my golden years. / Energy level: 2-4.      • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I don't seem concerned about or know commands but if you like, Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so we could give them a try. / I've never been crated and do not seem to need one. When my foster leaves the house for a few hours at a time, I've been fine. At night I sleep in a dog bed next to my foster's bed. / My potty manners are good on my foster's takeout schedule of every few hours. My former family reported that I also used potty pads when they were gone longer.      • LIKES/DISLIKES: I enjoy the company of my dog friends, chewing on a squeaky toy, taking short walks, and soaking up lots of affection! I'm also perfectly happy to spend much of the day relaxing and would love nothing more than to be in whatever room my person is in. I'm an easygoing fellow who just likes having my people nearby. Celery and carrots make great little treats, too! / I don't really like being left without my people, and I may let you know with a few barks and moans that I'd much rather have you nearby! And I don't think I'd be happy living without another calm dog. Like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I'm on an inexpensive over-the-counter joint supplement called Cosequin that's good for all older dogs. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I have a chronic cough which has been thoroughly checked out by the vets and does not seem to be of concern, other than some medication. Just ask how this is going.  I'm a wonderful fellow looking for a family that will treasure me and with another friendly dog to hang out with.
