Picasso’s Rescue Story Picasso was rescued from Bank Street in the most unexpected and incredible way. One kind individual literally risked his own safety to pick him up in the middle of the street and bring him into his car. Picasso was sneezing everywhere, leaving little trails of “snot” behind him—and, to make the scene even more unforgettable, he was covered in pink paint! That’s where his name came from: Picasso. Since the Ottawa Humane Society was already closed, Picasso was brought to PetSmart Mer Bleue, where the staff—being the cat lovers they are—welcomed this little ball of chaos and love just before closing time. You can only imagine the scene! As soon as we were notified, we went to pick him up. What we found was a tiny ball of love who had clearly been through quite an adventure. Since then, Picasso has been treated by his veterinarian and is doing so much better. He now uses an inhaler, which has become part of his daily routine. What started as a rescue in the middle of a busy street has turned into a beautiful journey filled with love, care, and a forever home. Picasso is loving, affectionate, and believes that petting is an absolute must! He has a vibrant personality and truly enjoys being around people. He’s also happy in the company of other cats and even gets along with dogs. And yes… Picasso is a lap cat! Once he trusts you, he may wrap his paws around your neck and hold on for hugs. He has so much love to give and wants to be close to his people. Picasso is looking for a home where his family will give him plenty of love, attention, companionship, and stimulation. His person will also need to give him his daily inhaler, which costs approximately $50 per month — a small price for the tremendous amount of love, affection, and hugs this sweet boy has to offer.
