Penny is a beautiful, happy girl who just turned 1 year old on September 18th and weighs approximately 45 pounds. She is a friendly, loving pup who absolutely adores people and LOVES other dogs! She has done wonderfully at dog parks and has enjoyed playing with multiple dogs at her home too. She would be thrilled to have a canine companion in her new home!Penny is crate trained and housebroken, and she knows how to sit, lay down, and give paw. She is incredibly affectionate and loves attention, toys, and being part of whatever her people are doing. She is also wonderful with children — she has four boys in her current home and absolutely adores them. She loves meeting new people and has never met a stranger. She has also stayed at Fetch for boarding several times and has always received great reports. Penny is still a young dog and definitely has some puppy energy and manners to work on. When she wants to play or get attention, she can get a little mouthy and may nip at fingers or pants. She is also a big chewer and will happily grab a sneaker, toy, or food if something is left within reach. She loves her toys and would benefit from a family willing to continue working with her on training.On walks, Penny can pull and likes to think she’s in charge of leading the way. She will also try to chase squirrels, so an adult should handle her walks rather than a child. Penny has never had any interaction with cats, so her compatibility with cats is unknown.Most importantly, Penny is a really good girl who simply needs more time and attention than her current family is able to give her. When she was adopted in December, her owner expected to be working fully remotely, but work circumstances have since changed. Penny is spending more time crated and boarded than she deserves.Penny is high energy and needs an active family who has the time to give her exercise, attention, training, and plenty of companionship.
