MEET FLOYD — LOOKING FOR A RESCUE OR LOVING HOME  Name: Floyd Age: Approximately 2 years old Breed: Husky mix ⚖️ Weight: Approximately 35–45 lbs ♀️ Female • Spayed Floyd has already been through so much, and now we’re hoping to help her find the safe and loving future she deserves. ❤️ We first met Floyd while feeding stray dogs in Tijuana. She was having trouble walking and her body was extremely jumpy and uncomfortable. At first, we assumed she was another dog living on the streets, but we eventually found her owner. Because of the owner’s disability and health circumstances, caring for Floyd and keeping her safely contained has become increasingly difficult. There is now concern that she could end up on the streets, so we are doing everything we can to find a rescue willing to take her in or help us find her a permanent home. When we got Floyd veterinary care, we discovered that she was dealing with a serious uterine infection (pyometra) and was also heavily infested with ticks. Her condition was extremely serious, and without treatment she could have died. We sponsored her surgery and continued helping with her recovery, including medication, vitamins, nutritious food, and other veterinary-recommended care. And Floyd has been fighting her way back. ❤️‍ She went from barely being able to walk to standing and walking much better. Her tick infestation is gone, she is gaining weight, looking healthier, and getting stronger. Her veterinarian expects her to continue improving with proper nutrition, vitamins, and care. Now she needs the next piece of her story: a safe place to land. My friends and I are actually cat trappers in San Diego who primarily help our community through TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return). When we travel to Tijuana, we also bring food for animals in need and look for sponsors to help families get their pets spayed and neutered. We aren’t a dog rescue, but after everything Floyd has been through, we couldn’t walk away from her. We are reaching out in hopes that a reputable rescue, foster, or adopter can step forward and give this sweet girl the chance she deserves. Floyd survived the hardest part.
