Meet this lovable bundle of zoomies! George is an adorable 9-month-old, 17.4-pound Mixed Breed. He's a happy, energetic guy who's working hard on house training and does well in his crate. He’s the kind of dog who'll keep you laughing and moving, and then happily curl up beside you for a well-earned nap. George will thrive in an active family who can give him plenty of opportunities to exercise both his body and his brain. A fenced yard would be a fantastic bonus so he can safely unleash those famous zoomies! He loves toys, playing fetch, chewing on a good bone, and going for car rides. George's foster mom says he has a bit of a hard time focusing, but once he gets some energy out, he really wants to please and tries hard to follow instructions. He already knows "sit," “off,” and how to walk on his hind legs. He’s working on "down" and "settle." He’s very food- and toy-motivated, which makes training extra fun! Once the day's adventures are over, George turns into a snuggle bug. After running, playing, exploring, and perhaps getting into a little mischief (shredding paper is a favorite past-time), he loves nothing more than curling up close to his people for a cozy nap. George has done well with young children, although he hasn't been exposed to babies or toddlers. He loves everyone and every animal he meets—even when they aren't quite as enthusiastic about him! He’s been great about sharing toys, is submissive with cats and other dogs, and hasn't shown any interest in the resident bunnies. His minimum adoption fee is $325 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
