This 9-month-old, 40-pound Shar-Pei mix has the cutest thick muzzle, those adorable Shar-Pei-style flaps, and a tail that sometimes curls up like a true Shar-Pei. Add in his super cool, unique coloring, and you’ve got one seriously distinctive pup! Bonzai is happiest when he’s with his humans. He absolutely loves greeting you when you come home and will be ready to make you feel like you’ve been gone forever—even if it’s only been a few minutes! He loves head rubs, hanging out with the family for movie time, going for walks, and even getting out for a hike. Basically, if his people are there, Bonzai is happy! He is fantastic with other dogs and loves having canine friends to play with. He has also done really well with kids of all ages. Bonzai can be a little shy when he first meets someone, but give him a few yummy treats and a little time, and he warms right up. We haven’t seen any aggression from him toward people or other animals. Bonzai is house trained and dog-door trained, and we think he’ll be a wonderful fit for just about any type of family. He’s still learning that the leash is supposed to be his friend, so he could use a little more leash work, but he’s young and learning! We don’t expect Bonzai to get much bigger than about 50 pounds full grown, making him a great size for adventures, cuddles, and everything in between.
