Leo & Willie – Bonded Cousins Looking for a Forever HomeWillie is an adorable tabby kitten whose strength and determination have amazed everyone who has met him.Willie was born in Silex, Missouri, alongside his cousin and best friend, Leo. Their mothers are sisters, and the kittens were initially being given away for free. Wanting to ensure they received proper veterinary care and the best possible start in life, our rescue stepped in and brought them into foster care.When Willie arrived, he had a significant injury to his right eye that was believed to have occurred before birth. At first, it appeared that his eye might need to be removed. Despite the pain and uncertainty, this small but mighty boy showed incredible resilience. He surprised everyone as his eye began to heal, and with plenty of care and rehabilitation, he can now see, play, and enjoy life just like any other kitten.Willie is fully healed, no longer requires treatment, and is not in any pain. The inflammation from his injury caused one tear duct to remain permanently closed, so he may occasionally have some tear staining around that eye. His surgeon has confirmed that the eye itself is healthy and functional. An occasional gentle wipe with a warm washcloth—and the promise of plenty of love—is all he needs!Willie and Leo are cousins by birth and best friends by choice. Throughout Willie’s recovery, Leo was his constant companion. Willie and Leo take comfort and confidence from one another and are looking for a forever home together as a bonded pair.
