Handsome, sweet, silly, and beyond deserving of a perfect forever home, Barkeep is on the lookout for his people! Barkeep originally came into foster from Chicago Animal Care and Control. He had been picked up off the street and was very sadly the victim of violence against him from a human. His resilience and strength have shown through has he has healed from his injuries and is just the most loving of cats. Understandably, we want him to have the very bestest forever home where he will never have to face those challenges again! Barkeep loves to chat with you, often meowing for affection and pets. He is a big cuddle bug and allows you to hold him like a baby or pick him up to carry around. He has an adventurous spirit and loves to explore new spaces! He can be found playing with kicker toys and crinkle balls most often, but also enjoys a wand toy. Barkeep would love a household with someone home frequently to give him all the pets and affection. If you work from home, he is ready to be your new coworker! He would likely do well in a household with a kitty pal to befriend, but could also be a solo cat in a household. He has never spent time with small children or dogs in foster care. Please note that you will need to brush him daily to manage his fur and keep him tangle free.
