ZIP NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Zip     Best Guess for Breed:   Lab mix   Best Guess for Age:   3 years as of April 2026       SEX:   Female   Approximate Weight:  44 lbs   Gets Along With:Zip does well with other dogs and has lived with cats!  We haven't seen her with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Zip is Looking For:  Her forever home! This pretty girl has got all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager to zip to and fro on romps and all the adventures her new humans can dream up. Making pup pals along the way would be great. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed - yes, those too! But you know what she wants most of all? To know where she belongs, to be safe and loved. Zip has so much to give to her humans - adoring gazes, love, and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Can you see her trotting by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:   "Zip is getting along really well in my home. She’s a snuggle bug whose personal space includes your personal space! No activity can be complete without this little shadow. She’s a self fetcher who can keep herself entertained for hours! You can never have too many toys that she’ll shake dead. She is doing great with my two cats. She would love to play with them, but they largely ignore her. She is very aptly named as she zips around the yard and house with lightning zoomies (if you let her). She had been on exercise restriction because of her heartworm treatment, but she is eager to run and play. She will be a great addition to any family!  She has big love and big personality."     Heartworm information: Zip is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Zip has completed this activity restriction period.    Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
