Meet Ruger, a 4-month-old hound puppy with a big personality and a very smart little head on his shoulders. This handsome young man is already showing off his skills and knows sit, lay down, paw, and other paw. He is eager to learn and loves showing off what he knows.Like any young puppy, Ruger still has some growing and learning to do. He has not quite figured out where the bathroom is yet, so his new family will need to continue working with him on potty training, leash skills, basic obedience, and crate training. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, Ruger has all the potential to grow into the wonderful gentleman he is meant to be.As a hound, Ruger also comes with the famous hound voice. Hounds can be loud and are known for using their voices to communicate, so an apartment lifestyle would not be recommended for him. He will do best with a family who understands and appreciates the unique personality and vocal nature of a hound.Ruger is still just a baby and is looking for a family willing to give him the patience, structure, training, exercise, and love he needs to continue learning and growing. He is a smart young man with so much potential, and with the right family by his side, Ruger will have everything he needs to become the best gentleman he can be.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $200
