Butterscotch is with our rescue partner down south and can come to NJ if we find a foster or adopter for him.   Meet Butterscotch — a beautiful, sweet Lab-mix boy who is ready for his second chance at the happy family life he deserves. Butterscotch was actually born at the shelter and adopted last December. He was deeply loved by his owner, but sadly, his owner became sick and passed away. Through no fault of his own, Butterscotch found himself back in the shelter system and is now safe in foster care. This gentle boy is truly a dream. He was wonderful with his owner’s grandkids, gets along beautifully with other animals, and has the easygoing, loving personality Labs are known for. Butterscotch is the kind of dog who would happily fit right into a busy home full of children, pets, love, and maybe a few dropped snacks. He has already known what it feels like to be part of a family. Now he just needs another one to give him the forever home he so deserves. Butterscotch is ready to bring sweetness, tail wags, and unconditional love to his next family. Could that be yours?   Butterscotch is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. He is already neutered and microchipped and his adoption donation is $500.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
