Meet Caramel   Caramel’s story began with heartbreak, but it is becoming one of hope, healing, and second chances.   Caramel was abandoned and left to fend for herself while pregnant. With no shelter, no water, and no one to care for her, she gave birth to ten tiny puppies in the Texas heat. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan discovered this little family and knew they desperately needed help.   Caramel was severely neglected. Her coat was painfully matted to the skin and covered in ticks. She had sores beneath the mats and was so malnourished that her ribs and hip bones were clearly visible. Her coat was beyond saving and had to be completely shaved.   Caramel and her ten babies were taken to Dallas Animal Services, and within just a couple of hours, they were safely with Texas All Creatures Rescue. That was the day Caramel’s healing journey began.   Today, she is thriving thanks to her amazing foster mom.    Caramel has gained much-needed weight, her beautiful parchment-colored coat is growing back in, and all ten of her puppies have found wonderful families of their own. After everything she did to keep her babies alive, it is finally Caramel’s turn.   Caramel is around two years old, approximately 48 pounds, and we believe she is a Terrier mix, possibly with Labradoodle. She is house trained, playful, and has the most beautiful, sweet and gentle temperament. She gets along wonderfully with the other dogs and cats in her foster home and truly seems to appreciate every bit of love and kindness that comes her way.   Caramel has left her days of neglect behind her. Now she simply needs the final piece of her story, a loving family of her very own.   She survived. She healed. She raised ten beautiful babies.   Now it’s Caramel’s turn to be someone’s baby.
