Meet Luna! ❤️ If your idea of the perfect dog is one who wants to curl up beside you, enjoy a peaceful home, and spend her days taking life at a slower pace, you may have just found your girl. Luna is a beautiful 17.6-pound Shih Tzu/Cocker Spaniel mix who is sweet, affectionate, and wonderfully mellow. She can be a little shy when she first meets someone, but once she decides you're her person, she opens up and shows you just how sweet she really is. Luna isn't looking for a busy, chaotic household. She'd much rather relax, lounge around, and enjoy the simple things in life—like scratching her back on the couch! She would be especially well suited to an older couple, seniors, or a family with respectful older teens who understand that she appreciates having her own space. Luna is crate trained, house trained, pee-pad trained, leash trained, and does well in the car. She has a low energy level and doesn't require a fenced yard, making her a great candidate for an apartment or a quieter home. Luna does have some important preferences that her future family needs to respect. She does not enjoy hyper dogs getting in her face and would prefer not to share her home with other pets. She also doesn't like dogs approaching her crate, which she considers her own private space. For that reason, Luna would do best as the only pet in the home. She is good with people and older, considerate teens. Her previous family also reported that Luna can be protective of her people. She may bark when she hears someone while she's in her crate, so her new family should understand that she's a little watchdog in addition to being a cuddlebug. Luna isn't asking for much. She just wants a safe, calm place where she can relax, feel secure, and be loved. In return, she'll happily be your cozy companion and remind you that sometimes the best adventures are simply finding the perfect spot on the couch. Luna's perfect match: A peaceful home with people who appreciate a mellow companion, respect her boundaries, and want a sweet girl to share the quiet moments of life with. She'd love to be your one and only! Luna is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. Luna has been spayed and has a microchip. Her adoption fee is $500.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.
