Meet Coco! Coco is a sweet, handsome little guy who may need a little time to warm up, but once he gets to know you, his happy, playful personality starts to shine. At about 14.8 pounds, this Shih Tzu/Cocker Spaniel mix is the perfect size for someone looking for a smaller companion with plenty of personality. Coco can be a little timid when faced with new people, places, or experiences. Things like steps and unfamiliar surroundings can make him unsure at first, but he catches on quickly once he has a routine and understands what to expect. Give him a little patience, and you'll soon see the goofy, affectionate puppy underneath that initial shyness. Coco is good with other dogs, people, and kids, and he even does well with cats. He's crate trained, does pretty well on a leash, enjoys his toys, and rides nicely in the car. His previous owners also reported that he is pee-pad trained. Like any young dog, Coco is still learning his manners and will benefit from continued puppy training, consistency, and a family willing to help him build confidence. With his moderate energy level and adaptable personality, Coco could do well in a variety of homes, including an apartment. He doesn't need a huge yard—he needs someone who will give him the time to settle in, establish a routine, and show him that the world isn't quite as scary as it first seemed. Once Coco knows the ropes, he's a happy little puppy who is ready to play, cuddle, learn, and become your very best friend. ❤️ Coco's ideal family: Someone patient and kind who understands that shy puppies don't always show their full personalities on day one. Give Coco a little time, and he'll give you so much love in return! Coco is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. Coco has been neutered and has a microchip. His adoption fee is $600.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.
