Meet Your New Best Friend! Hi hoomans! My name is Zev, I'm approximately 15 weeks old and 20 pounds and I am a professional puppy, belly-rub enthusiast, kiss dispenser, and… apparently, backyard excavation specialist. My favorite thing in the whole world is PLAYING! I love romping around with my sister and my big foster brother, so I would really love a forever home with another dog who is ready to play, wrestle, and keep up with my puppy energy. Having a doggy friend would make me very happy! I also love to play with the cat in my foster home but I can be a little much with my eagerness to shower the cat with kisses. In my forever home I would be good with a dog-savvy cat who can tolerate puppy enthusiasm and stands their ground when they've had enough. When I'm not busy playing, I'm busy giving ALL THE KISSES to my foster human brother. I absolutely adore him! I'm great with my 6-year-old human brother, although my foster mom thinks I would do best with older kids who understand that puppies sometimes explore the world with their mouths.  I also have one very important rule in my life: BELLY RUBS ARE REQUIRED. I am more than happy to flop dramatically onto my back so you can pay your belly-rub tax. Please don't try to avoid payment. I will notice. I'm a German Shepherd, which means I am smart, energetic, curious, and looking for a job! My foster mom is currently convinced that my chosen career path is Professional Backyard Hole Creator. Apparently, I'm going to need some career counseling. She's also helping me learn that furniture is not actually a delicious puppy snack. I'm working hard on my chewing manners and getting better every day. Potty training is still a work in progress, but I'm making improvements every day! I'm also learning that collars and leashes aren't nearly as scary as I originally thought. They're not my favorite things yet, but with patience, consistency, and encouragement, I'm becoming more comfortable and confident. I am crate trained but at the moment I am used to going in with my puppy sister.  Because I'm a German Shepherd with lots of energy and a big brain, I'd really love a family who understands the breed and enjoys giving their dog a job - whether that's training, enrichment, games, hiking, obedience, or just having a daily routine that keeps my body and brain busy. I'm still a baby, and I'm learning so much. I may come with some puppy chaos, but I promise I'll repay you with kisses, belly rub requests, goofy antics, and a whole lot of love. I am looking for a home with an at least 6 foot fenced in backyard because I love exploring and might wander off.
