Turbo Sometimes the perfect dog comes along. That dog is Turbo. And today, Turbo needs to find his forever home. Turbo is 8½ years young, and honestly… he’s pretty close to perfect. He’s neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and weighs about 84 pounds. He’s working on losing a few of those pounds, but luckily for Turbo, he has no interest in training for a marathon. His idea of a good day is spending time with his people, going for a car ride, enjoying a little adventure, and then finding a comfortable place to relax. And we think that sounds pretty perfect, too. Turbo needs a new home through absolutely no fault of his own. His owner became seriously ill, and for several months, friends and neighbors lovingly cared for Turbo while his owner was unable to do so. Sadly, his owner has since passed away. So now, after losing the person and home he knew, Turbo is waiting for someone to give him a place to belong again. And honestly, Turbo makes it pretty easy to say yes. He is incredibly tolerant, patient, gentle and easygoing. He previously lived with two female dogs, but Turbo really isn’t particular about whether his canine friends are boys or girls. He likes to say hello when he meets them, and then he’s perfectly content to let everyone do their own thing. He does wonderfully with other dogs and is also cat friendly. Turbo is the kind of dog who enjoys being with you without demanding to be the center of attention. He’s perfectly capable of relaxing on his own, but after spending most of his life with people around, we think he would be happiest in a home where he has companionship much of the time. Another compatible dog would be wonderful, or a person who is home a good portion of the day. And then there are all the little things that make Turbo so special… Dog friendly Cat friendly Neutered and current on vaccinations Patient, gentle and exceptionally tolerant Comfortable with grooming Allows his nails to be trimmed Not bothered by thunderstorms Not bothered by fireworks Loves car rides Loves going places with his people Equally happy relaxing at home or soaking up the sunshine in the backyard Does not need an extremely active household And according to Training with Karen, Turbo is even more wonderful than he already sounds: “I’ve had the opportunity to take Turbo along while working with other dogs, and he continues to impress me. He is naturally attentive, responsive and just seems to understand how to be a good dog. More than once I’ve wondered whether somebody secretly trained this guy in a former life!” Turbo isn’t looking for someone who wants to hike ten miles every weekend. He’s looking for something much simpler. A comfortable home. A sunny spot in the yard. Someone to take him along for a car ride. Someone to share the couch with. Someone who will let him quietly follow them from room to room. Someone to call his own again. After everything in his world has changed, Turbo deserves the chance to feel settled, safe and loved again. He has spent his life being someone’s dog. We’d really like to see him spend the rest of it being someone’s beloved dog.
