Description
Meow meet Onyx! She is a beautiful adult black female kitty who seems to have once belonged to someone. She showed up at a home on her own, but it quickly became clear that she was no stranger to people. She was already spayed, though sadly not microchipped, and her gentle affectionate nature makes it clear that someone loved her at some point in her life. Onyx is sweet, gentle, and enjoys being petted. She has a softer side that comes out when she feels comfortable, but the rescue environment has been very stressful for her. She is beginning to show that stress outwardly, which is a reminder that a shelter setting can simply be overwhelming for some cats. She would much prefer a peaceful, quiet home where she can settle in without a lot of commotion. Onyx would do best in a home without other pets or young children. She is also protective of her food , which may be a behavior she developed from having to fend for herself. Her adopter will need to respect her space around mealtimes and allow her to feel secure. Onyx doesn’t need a busy household or lots of excitement. She needs the simple comfort of a quiet home, a soft place to rest, gentle hands, and someone who will let her finally exhale. Onyx has already known what it means to be loved, and somewhere beneath the stress and uncertainty, that sweet girl is still there and now waiting. She deserves the chance to leave the noise and stress behind, find a peaceful home, and once again feel what it’s like to be safe, cherished, and truly loved!
